About Dr. JP Holmgren | Telepsychiatrist at Midwest Psychological Services
Dr. Holmgren trained at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis throughout medical school, and did his psychiatric residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Holmgren then returned to his home in Wisconsin to practice psychiatry and has done so for the past 30 years.
He is a Wisconsin board-certified psychiatrist in adult psychiatry as well as having 10 years of experience working with children ages five and older.
During the first nine years of his work, Dr. Holmgren provided psychiatric care in a hospital-based practice. Since that time he moved to office-based psychiatric care and currently works in Hudson, Wisconsin at Midwest Psychological Services.
In the past five years Dr. Holmgren has developed an extensive telepsychiatry and teletherapy program to meet the demands of his patients. The purpose of this program is multifold and includes: dramatically improving the accessibility of services, increasing the privacy that a client would experience during a visit, and accommodating adverse weather conditions while traveling.
In addition, Dr. Holmgren’s telepsychiatry and teletherapy service reduces the need for finding child care services during appointment time, and provides the benefit of eliminating travel time for office visits.
